Paleo smoothies

Who doesn’t love a good smoothie? Quick, easy, refreshing and something you can throw all sorts of things into. I know that many of them mums I work with find smoothies a wonderful way to add some extra fruits, vegetables and other nutrients into their children’s diet- simply add a colourful or ‘twisty’ straw and the smoothie becomes even more appealing.

Here are a few recipes for some of my favourite smoothies.

Replenish smoothie

I love to make this smoothie after a particularly tough crossfit session. Its a great way to rehydrate and add some additional magnesium and protein into my day.

  • 1 cup frozen organic raspberries
  • 1/3 cup coconut cream
  • 1 cup coconut water or filtered water.
  • 1 tsp magnesium powder
  • 1 scoop Vital greens protein powder.

Throw all ingredients into a blender or Themomix and wizz up. You may want to add a little extra ice, especially on a hot day.

Summer Breakfast Smoothie.

There are many things I love about the warmer weather and the myriad of summer fruit is just one of them.

  • Pulp of 1 passion fruit
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 kiwifruit- peeled.
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk or other non dairy milk such as almond milk.
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • handful of ice

Throw all ingredients into a blender or Themomix and wizz up. You may want to add a little extra ice, especially on a hot day.

Refreshing Smoothie

  • 1 apple
